Hoorah!

I'm guessing this takes some of the offseason pressure off of Cohen? Couldn't have them making deep runs in the two years following our NC appearance with us watching.

I know we sucked this year but if there was any silver lining in niot making the post season it was that Ole Miss went 0-1 in the SECT and 0-2 in their regional and finished the year with 3 straight losses

They needed to get back in time to get their participation rings before summer school.

I know I'm dreading next baseball season. I hope Cohen fixes this, but I'm super pessimistic. Just making a regional would be nice after this year, but at the same time, we are beyond the point where just making a regional should make us happy. Analyzing what Cohen has done, is doing, and will do has me so confused as far as my expectations are concerned.

0-3 in postseason. I predicted they would go 0-2.

I predict same record in 2016. They won't win 35 in regular season. They will have talent.

USM got screwed, this RPI system is a bunch of bull shit, it allows somebody like the sharkbears (who only sucked slightly less than us ) get to a regional ( as a 2 seed no less ) and leave a team with a much better record than either MSU or tsun, who whipped the both of us head to head, sitting at home. Sometime, somewhere folks just gotta start using some common sense and logic when figuring out this stuff. I bet that USM would have won at least one or two in this regional, possibly made it to the third day.

OM finished 30-28. They did win series against Vandy and Florida, but otherwise they got into the tourney by losing away OOC games. If the RPI didn't have that crazy weighting system for away vs home games, then they wouldn't have been in the NCAAs at all.

Considering Cohen single-handedly put them in the post-season, I should hope not. I want his ass to stew all year and be on fire next February after watching Mullen and Howland kick ass.

RPI left the realm of logic years ago. I think of it as a tool to help make a subjective decision. If you lose to a bunch of good teams what the neck does that prove? If RPI meant anything we'd be sending 9-3 teams to cfbpo in football. I
Again it's a tool. You need to a lot more weighted to the win column for postseason than barely above .500 imo, no matter who you played.

I know its just sarcasm but ironically the Roadrunners used Adidas bats to beat the Rebs.

I remember making fun of Ole Miss getting booted by William & Mary the year we went to Omaha. Us not doing well and making fun of Ole Miss is not mutually exclusive- which you would know if you were a MSU fan.

And not so ironically, I guess- they only needed two runs to beat them.

Schedule strength killed USM. It was just over 100 while UM's was #1.

what they did has zero effect on Cohen's expectations for next year. Enjoying them losing is like eating a good dessert after a shitty meal. It didn't make the meal any better or make you forget- but just something pleasant to finish on.

The Bears score 3 at the Peach, 2 in Regionals. 5 total points/runs. Impressive performance in the post season to say the least.
Participation rings from Ronco should be in about 6-8 weeks.

Great analogy, Coach! Our season was a shit-sandwich, but watching TSUN fail was a Snickers bar chaser.

Spot on.

UM did get screwed a bit. Which I thoroughly enjoy.

They drew Maryland who should have been a 2 and their No.1 who is virtually unbeatable. And thanks to starting last Thursday and Saturday in the WAC tournament (you read thaht right) Bakersfield's No. 1 was given an extra day's rest.

By the way, when did Maryland move to the Big 10?

Ole Miss did not get screwed in any way IMO. If anything, they should have been a 3 seed, so even if Maryland could have been a 2, the outcome stays the same. OM didn't deserve to even make a Regional, but inflated SOS & a flawed RPI system helped them. USM is the one that got screwed if you ask me.

Agreed. BearSharks didn't deserve in the field. USM and Missouri did
