Awesome, I always liked Ed. Great player and a great bulldog. Thanks for the update, Todd. Is he just filling in for an injury, or could this be the beginning of a long stint in the bigs?

He got called up because of Matt Adams injury. The Cardinals just sent down Marco Socolovich when they called up Jon Jay.

I think how long he stays up will depend on if/when the Cardinals get another first baseman or if they decide to carry another relief pitcher at some point. Marco Gonzales is out for three weeks right now- and that is good for Ed.

I'd really hate to see the Cardinals trade and overpay for a guy like Ryan Howard that's way passed his prime. Thankfully they've avoided these types of trade in the past.
