Stricklin must be so proud. Good thing we have an AD that isn't afraid to light a fire under somebody**

Here's the Ugly Truth

Football: 0-1
Men's Basketball: 0-2
Baseball: 0-2 and counting
Women's Basketball: 2-0
Softball: 1-2
Men's XC: 0-1
Women's XC: 1-0 (SEC)
Women's Golf: 1-0 (SEC)
Men's Golf: 1-0 (SEC)
Women's Indoor Track: 1-0 (SEC)
Soccer:0-1
Women's Tennis: 0-1
Men's Tennis: 1-0
Volleyball: 0-2

7-12, with the seven wins coming in women's basketball (2), softball (1), men's tennis (1), and a higher finish at SEC Championships in women's indoor track, XC and golf, and men's golf.

So that's 3-12 in head-to-head competition. PA-THE-TIC. I don't think I can take another year like this one.

I think this year should put an end to TSUN and all the other jabs. You don't do that crap when you're getting your ass handed to you. If you have to do something call them Mississippi.

The 17 are you guys talking about? We just had the best football season in any of our lifetimes. We were #1 for 5 weeks.

I'll take that every year.

Look on the bright side, at least we don't mock them with gradeschool acronyms and terrible practice shirts****................ those practice shirts coming out, then losing 4 in a row to them....the most Mississippi State thing EVER.

We better win today. Or Striklin's phone will be ringing off the hook the next 3 days. (not saying Cohen deserves firing. Just the Bulldog fans will be irate.)

Yep. But the only sport they're really ahead of us in is baseball. Football the home team wins, period. Basketball, problem solved. Sad to say we've got some catching up to do in baseball though.

Ole Miss is NOT ahead of us in baseball. We just drove ourselves off a damned cliff this year. Awful.

State's eternal motto...

I like om's returning hitters much better than ours.

They've had the upper hand this year no doubt but let's not act like OM has ran off & left us in athletics. Some people need to press the reset button. I hate our fans who measure our success purely on what we did against OM.

I agree we shouldn't measure our success solely on success vs OM, but it should definetely play a big part.

Oh yeah, by what measure would you judge our men's athletic programs this year a success? Football being the obvious exception. Very nice football year even if we lost the egg

Since we reached #1 in football (huge success), we're...

Football = 4-3 (3-2)
Basketball = 13-19 (6-13)
Baseball = 24-26 (8-18)
Total = 41-48 (17-33)

During this period, we have to have the worst record in the sec

You're kind of making my point. Our seasons in baseball & basketball were bad regardless of losing to OM. I'm going to be honest if we would've won 2 out of 3 this weekend it wouldn't have made me feel any better about this season. I know some fans who would've said it would have. Same with basketball if Ray would've won both the games against OM should we have kept him or all of sudden made the season better? Hell no. I always want to beat OM but these 2 bad seasons in basketball & baseball wouldn't all of sudden had been saved or less bad if we had beaten OM. Not for me anyway.

I just think that baseball has always been our fan's safe haven and after a really tough stretch of sports that this is the proverbial straw

It plays a part- but its not the end all.

This year has sucked vs THEM- but football was one of our best in history...basketball and baseball have sucked. August starts a new year- good football team and Egg at home, Howland with a veteran team, and Cohen better improve. 2015-2016 will be better

I agree that the football season reduces the sting a little but they are our in-state rival and we are one game from being swept by them in the big 3 sports which sucks. Luckily I don't associate with many of them. As long as people continue to brew beer everything is manageable but I would really like to sweep those dicks every year in every sport.

Its terribly corny.

So is refusing to call your own school by it's actual name like the University of Mississippi does. Instead they use a slavery term. "F--K Ole Miss" is the new name for them anyways. Don't like TSUN? Use "F--K Ole Miss" instead.

Coach34

I hate TSUN also and never say it. I call them by their slave name they gave themselves-Ole Missus or simply Mississippi

Mississippi is too good for them, always thought that even when Jackie used it. Ole Miss is appropriate, sounds stupid, and I'm happy to say it and emphasize how stupid, racist and behind the times it is. The type of person that wants to be there deserves the ridicule imho.

We need to be careful in the EB this year and not blow it off with the home field advantage ploy. That can change in one game.
