#12 Kentucky (5-19, 29-23) #23RPI
#13 Arkansas (1-23, 16-37) #84RPI

We play tomorrow (Wednesday) at 11:00AM CDT against Missouri. If we get past them we will play Auburn Thursday 10:00AM CDT. We got our work cut out for us. Win one or two and we might sneak into a two seed somewhere but I don't think so unless we go deep. Lose tomorrow and we probably still get in but I'm nervous. I'm still learning how much baseball postseason selection logic applies to softball.

Pitching after regular season:

1268 ALEXIS SILKWOOD (Soph)

ERA---------> 2.63
Record------> 25-13
Strikeouts--> 198
Walks-------> 103
Hit Batters--> 19
Innings------> 211.2

Plus 2 saves, the only two for the team. We were 21-1 when scoring first!

1269 MACKENZIE TOLER (Soph)

ERA---------> 3.84
Record------> 2-2
Strikeouts--> 28
Walks-------> 21
Hit Batters--> 10
Innings------> 31.0

1270 CASSADY KNUDSEN (Frosh)

ERA---------> 4.65
Record------> 2-0
Strikeouts--> 29
Walks-------> 23
Hit Batters--> 4
Innings------> 43.2

1271 HOLLY WARD (Frosh)

ERA---------> 5.98
Record------> 6-3
Strikeouts--> 38
Walks-------> 46
Hit Batters--> 18
Innings------> 64.1

-Silkwood has carried most of the load which you can see. I'm hoping the experience gained for the others will give her more support in the future. In softball you can get away with pitching by committee a little easier in the sense that starters can go more than once per week(end).

Game day bump. We play Mizzou at 11am on SEC Network. I'm at work though so can't do a game thread.

Really disappointing finish to the year. They beat LSU when they were #1 and State was in fourth place in the SEC. A legitimate chance to host at that point. Didn't win a series past that, but didn't get swept either.

They should be in, regardless. But a win today would calm some nerves. As far as softball logic goes - don't be surprised if Kentucky makes the NCAA Tournament. They have traditionally weighed RPI much more than conference finish.

Not looking good right now with Mizzou up 6-0 in the sixth. If this holds up, we've tanked, going 5-9 since beating LSU. And that's 2-9 against teams with a pulse. If Kentucky makes deep tournament run, they may get in all right... INSTEAD of us.

Went down by run rule again. Missouri 9, MSU 0
Bulldogs finish 35-19

UGA demolished UMiss 11-0

Quaoarsking, you are probably right in that we'll still make post season, but I'm still rooting against Kentucky tonight. No need for them to make a deep tourney run if things come down to a choice between us and them. Eleven from one conference in a field of 64 may be too much to ask but I don't know if it's happened before. I'd also suggest we root for A&M to go deep since we beat them 2 of 3. South Carolina beat us 2 of 3, so I hope they lose and A&M advances. If one of the "big girls" wins, I suppose we should root for it to be LSU since we went 1-0 (Yay!) against them.
