Since our baseball team sucks ass lets talk some basketball. I am putting the over/under at 20. Over, with Newman and the seniors we should have no problem getting over 20 wins. Who would of thought our basketball team could end up with more wins next year than the baseball team this year.

We'll win 20+

Over. I think you put it too low, everybody should go over.

I think the right line would be somewhere around 22-24.

So, are y'all saying we can get excited about basketball again?!?****

I'll take the over too. I have a sneaking suspicion, even if we hadn't gotten Malik, we'd look like a drastically improved team. With Malik, we're gonna go dancin'.

Im being realistic and putting it at 18

I honestly don't think that's realistic; I think that's pessimistic.

Last year's team was in reality probably a 15-16 win team at least, on paper. And we lost several games we shouldn't have and still won 13.

Next year's team should be around an 18-win team without Newman.

I'd set it at 19.5 and take the over. I see 20-21 wins

20 is probably a low number if you're trying to get 50% of the money on each side. The bubble teams had 20-21 wins. With Newman and a bunch of seniors who have played a lot, the expectations have to higher than bubble - right? I'd say 21.5.

I'm going with 25 wins. I think Ray would have won 20 next year. So surely Malik and Howland can get 5 more.

I think had we stayed healthy, kept Ray, and didnt sign Malik- we would have won 18 next year. If we would have had someone better than Bloodman coming off the bench this past season- we would have won 18

People forget that we probably would have won at least 17 games last year if Ready and Sword are healthy to start the year. We probably beat Tulane, Arkansas State, USC Upstate, and McNesse with those two healthy. Now take Bloodman off the roster and add Malik Newman, then take Ray off the bench and add Howland- 20+ wins is by no means unrealistic. Granted, our schedule will hopefully be tougher next year, but I still go over 20.

To me the caveat here is what does the nonconference schedule look like. I think Howland is going to play some solid teams and I think that might skew our overall record closer to 20 wins. The days of us only playing 2 or 3 Power 5 teams (or decent mid majors) in the nonconference are over. We played 3 this year and 2 the year before that. I think you might see us play 4-6 next year because that's the kind of basketball I think Howland wants us to play.

With that being said, I still think we get the over. Ben Howland, Malik Newman, new staff, new energy, and 4 seniors should be enough to get us 21-22 wins and an NCAA Tournament bid. Our RPI should be better because I think the SEC will be strong and because our nonconference should be much more challenging.

I hope it goes as well as we are hoping it will. Gonna be tough. Always is. Minimum need is a winning conference record. Many are predicting much more. Hope they're right.

Already committed to the Puerto Rico Tip Off with 3 of Butler, Miami, Minnesota, Missouri State, Temple, Texas Tech, and Utah. Those teams were 20, 46, 58, 262, 54, 168, and 8 in KenPom last year - should get some good match ups out of that. After that, there should be a solid game from the SEC/Big 12 and probably one more marque game.

I almost don't wanna pick ' cause it feels too easy and everybody else already has. Over. 21 feels a very safe prediction.

I think we win 19. 10 in conference and 9 out of conference. Hopefully, postseason will add more.

If we win 18 or 19 next year, I will be pretty disappointed. 6 SEC teams won at least 20 last year, and I think the conference will be better as a whole next year.

It will partially depend on our OOC schedule, but it's not like we're going to go schedule one of the toughest in the country. South Carolina and Auburn won 11 OOC games last year. Alabama won 10. We won 7, even with several horrific losses.

Winning 9 OOC games next year would be a pretty big failure.

Yeah - if it's only 18-19, it would be a pretty big disappointment. A lot rides on next year and specifically how Newman does. If he does well and makes a run, it could entice others to follow his lead.

However, if it falls short of that and there's no NCAA tournament - there's a very real chance that you would lose Newman along with Sword, Ware, Thomas, & Daniels. It may be hard to convince next year's Newman under those circumstances.

I'm totally in favor of us winning more. Hopefully, that's what will happen.
