Good IT today, C34, potential to win free stuff is always great. I've got my own IT today, and every other day until it happens. Still waiting on the pink slip for Bracky.

Had to call for you to be silenced Political Hack so I wouldn't have to sift through "we aren't cheaters" tweets today. And hat tip to engie on the links and some of the info as well.

This is an honest question, I have no allegiance to Bracky (btw, where did he get that name?!)

Are our coaches upset with the guy? I read stuff like what Ghost of Hank Flick writes and it seems obvious. But I have never heard that are coaches dislike the guy. But they may hate BB for all I know.

If our coaches dislike BB, and if what is written about BB on this board is true, then this whole thing reflects very poorly on Strickland's leadership.

From the whisperings that I've heard/read a lot of how the Redmond case unfolded was ordered from the very top of the University. So I'm not sure if Keenum is why BB is in business or what but I am not positive that Scott is the issue here. He very well may be but I wouldn't say that BB is his boy for certain.

Do y'all seriously think Bracky is making all of these decisions without the input of and against the wishes of others in our administration?

This hatred of Bracky is some of the most irrational shit I've seen in a long time.

Political Hack should be silenced? To whom did I say something? To compliance? NCAA? Joe Schad? Pat Forde? ESPN? Commerical Appeal? Clarion Ledger? I should say that a letter and bank records were provided to the NCAA after they contacted others, but the NCAA has never contacted me directly. Chew on that for a moment.

I think your stories are pretty spot on so far, but I also think this issue should fade into history and simply serve as a lesson to anyone who thinks it's a good idea to offer guidance to an inner city Memphis kid whose father was murdered and is being misguided by a dirty crook.

Even reading part 3 and part 4 of this I'm confused as to what really happened timeline wise. Did we self-report something like this that should have been handled internally because 1. that's just the lame way Bracky and company do things at MSU OR 2. because we were scared shitless that DeVinner and OM had the goods on this and would turn us in to the NCAA and we would potentially get a worse penalty if the NCAA came in and we had NOT self reported?

I am totally in favor of a house cleaning of our compliance department, don't get me wrong, but I guess I can understand a little better WHY we self-reported if we were convinced it was going to make its way to the NCAA anyway through OM turning us in. What really happened here?

This is where the Bracky-Getsapo type comparisions come in. This wasnt an NCAA investigation- it was MSU Compliance nailing itself to the cross for no reason

Maybe if our administration was getting a little better advice from our compliance department they would be making different decisions. Just because Keenum is president of our university that doesn't make him or his office advisors experts on how to deal with the discovery of potential rules violations regarding one of our recruits.

Exactly- this is why other schools employ lawyers and former NCAA people to head up their compliance offices. We have a guy that taught PE and coached in HS. When you say that out loud- it really sounds stupid

"silenced" was a poor choice of words for this message board post. In the article I said "punish internally" which is what I meant. I in no way meant you were out running your mouth off like ole Wardlaw or anything. My apologies for the misunderstanding.

It is my understanding that as soon as MSU was made aware of the situation it was reported to the NCAA. This is just the way our compliance department is run. There needs to be a thermometer stick on our violations as far as what to report. This "violation" was in no way anywhere near something to be reported. If it was, each SEC school would be filing several of these per year....not to mention all the stuff they don't catch wind of.

Past coaching staffs haven't gotten along w bracky either. Our compliance department is spineless when it comes to the NCAA and is totally afraid of acting without their consent. Other schools tell the NCAA the way it's going to be while bracky just offers our programs up as sacrificial lambs. It's a proven fact that our compliance department has no balls.

Damn. So I guess the NCAA spent about as much time investigating us as it took to read Bracky's report.

Joe Dier is retiring. Twitter says he was our SID. I thought Greg Ellis was our SID?

Anyway, there is an opening in the Athletic Department. It is high time for Bracky Brett to receive some career diversity. Ship him some over to that new vacancy, stat!

Dier was the baseball and volleyball SID. Ellis is basketball and track. Joe Gailbraith (sp) is football. Nibblet is softball and assistant at football. The rest of the sports are obviously irrelevant so if anyone knows you are a super fan.

That's why the NCAA was so proud of the way we handled the situation. We did all their investigative work and built their entire case for them. All they really had to do was show up to give us our punishment. Man wouldn't it be great in our judicial system if the defense team essentially laid out and provided the entire case for the prosecution. Would save a lot of tax dollars.

Does it matter?

A highschool coach is doing a job that is being done EVERYWHERE ELSE by LONGTIME NCAA INVESTIGATORS and LAWYERS. The rest of it is common sense.

I'm pretty well-rounded talent wise. I can fix your iphone or android, your computer, design whatever you want in autocad, solidworks, etc...Would you hire me to do minor surgery on you(let's say an ACL repair for example)? You wouldn't -- because you want a specialist performing a specific action. We need a specialist leading compliance.

Bracky is a holdover from the ****ing LT Administration. That tells me ALL I need to know about his ability to competently perform his job. Fire his ass and go hire a lawyer for the job. There's no reason for us to hold ourselves back in the current recruiting environment.
