at Greystone in Birmingham.

MSU is ranked #8 in the nation (#2 in a not-as respected poll), and holds a 22-10 record against the SEC this season. Only #4 LSU (1-4, 35 strokes) and # 17 Vanderbilt (1-2, 4 strokes) have bested MSU overall this season. South Carolina is #2 in the nation (MSU is 1-1 vs. USC this year) and LSU is #4 (MSU is 1-4) but MSU is the third highest ranked team in the SEC. MSU's strength of schedule is #2 in the nation, only behind UC Davis.

Individually, MSU is led by senior Ally McDonald (71.71), the #7 player in the nation this year (She won the Regional last year and finished 5th at the national championships). Sophomore Jessica Peng (71.96) is ranked #10 in the nation.

State is virtually assured a bid to the regionals, but they have a shot to win the SEC Championship.

All of the top three gals( Ally, Rica and Chieh Jessica ) have extensive experience in both the national and international match play competition and have faired pretty well. As I understand it, there is a new format for the NC this year and it either all match play or heavily weighted on match play. If the gals are on the game in the NCAA's, this could be a very legitimate shot at winning the first ever natty for MSU.
