Don't forget our weak schedule won't allow us to be ranked very high. We need a better SOS with some real OOC games!!**

Wow, that is impressive. I will be pretty surprised if we are in the Top 25 for any of the preseason polls, because they will just look at the number of "starters" that we have returning and write us off......nice to see that the guys who actually do their research and have money on the line disagree.

On a side note, I have been reading message boards for a long time and have seen a lot of really stupid spelling errors, but this is definitely a first:

Ohio State and TCU checked in at number-one and two, which should be a surprise to know-one, followed by Alabama, Auburn and Oregon to round out the top five.

Please do better, Jake Wimberly....either that or remove "Mississippi State graduate" from your profile.

Vegas gives Florida the same odds as OM. That trip to the swamp may not be as easy as they think

the polls follow Vegas, not the other way around. We may be top 25 with this coming out... but it won't be because the pundits did their homework. it'll be because they took notice that Vegas thinks we're legit.

Also, everyone that's been questioning me about LSU... take a gander at where they rank right now according to Vegas.

If LSU does win it, I still think it'll be with at least one loss....in Starkville September 12. I'm glad we're getting them in game 2

I actually think that's spot on. I think they lose to us and don't lose again the rest of the season. A lot can change between now and then, but if I had to pick their games right now that's how I'd pick them.

State is on the move, the power of Dak (and Mullen) will be even more evident this season. People don't realize the weak foundation that Mullen had and how much he has turned things around over the past 5 years. It took him 3 years just to put the base in place, now we're seeing the benefits. The future is bright if Mullen can keep developing QBs (looks like we're in solid shape there)...

What casino/offshore site are these odds from? Not saying they aren't legit/represent what I think they should be, but I can't find anything...

LSU is gonna be real good- but doesn't have the QB to win the real big ones- Us or Bama on the road- maybe not even Oke Missus

Their offense is going to be real predictable. To off set that they are going to have to do what Arkansas has done. Get a reall good TE who is tall and can catch and run over people.

I just had flash backs to the Arkansas game. That last drive or two when their TE kept converting 4th downs for them.

I completely agree. It's going to be hard to keep us out of the top 3 in the SEC for the next 2-3 years and we have a shot at the title.

The things that killed us last year were defensive scheme, depth at skill positions and safety play. Dak and JRob were not the same players after taking a beating in the KY game and Jameon's absence made it tough for the other WR's. Safety play was both schematically awful and lack of elite talent (and an arrest) didn't help.

I think we have likely fixed the D scheme. We have two great QB's behind Dak that could win games. The WR's are the best they have ever been, and we have great options at RB. We have talent coming in at S, but that's still not a great position for us.

Concerns are going to be experience on the lines this year and again, S play. We're always boo-hooing about the OL, but it almost always works out. We're not elite all over the DL, but we will be fine and the LB's will help make up for that.

My biggest concern is at S, which Diaz relies on heavily to wipe out mistakes from being aggressive up front. I trust Market, but everyone else is a question mark. A ball hawk safety could go wild with what teams are going to try to do to use with tape from last year, but I'm not sure we have that. Hopefully aggressive play up front turns the deep ball threat into a sack opportunity more often than last year.

Im trying to figure out how I can bet my entire mortgage against Florida winning the national title. Im not sure they win 7 games. Only 33 to 1?

So If I bet 330,000, I win 10K? Seems like the safest bet on the planet. Am I crazy or does that seem like free money, if you had 330K to bet.

Sounds like a vcash bet that needs to be made.

Seriously, can we get out own odds going? Or use these?

I have never really paid attention to how the preseason polls compare to the odds that Vegas puts out, but it wouldn't surprise me a bit if this was the case. And to be completely honest, if I had to submit a preseason top 25 ballot, I would definitely use the numbers that Vegas puts out as my starting point.

Who do you think would be more accurate in predicting the future, a guy who sells magazines or a large group of people risking millions of dollars?

Yea, kind of like shorting a stock. Man at the money we could have made on shorting MSU during the Croom years.
