What happened? I find it hard to listen to Granny during CFB season and he annoys me all of the time. But May is a dumbass, regardless of Holtz. Lord knows who they get to replace him.

I never liked Lou Holtz. I always felt like he was condescending when he would talk about other teams and how he would just hope that his team "wouldn't get embarrassed" or something to that effect and you knew deep down he didn't believe it.

He just never seemed very genuine to me.

He was ok for a period of time, but it was time for him to go. His act got old.

The best part of this vine? Watching a certain team scroll across the video board with #1 next to its name.

Hell yeah. About damn time. Holthz and his lithp were impossible to understand. Not to mention he'd gotten so senile he didn't know what he was talking about 98% of the time. And the other 2% was pure luck. Anyone would be an upgrade over Granny Holthz. Good riddance.

I liked him.

Lou was a college football icon. Knows a lot, has a lot of stories. I thought he was good for the back seat type role he had.

ESPN was smart enough to keep him in that late show while leaving all the huger speed work for younger guys. (cough Jim Ellis cough)

Not a fan of Lou. He should have retired several years ago.

So, who gets Lou's spot: Mack Brown?

I will actually miss him in a strange way. I love to dislike his reasoning and picks. It's comic relief. His replacement has big shoes to fill.

Really Clark?

I don't who they will get to replace him but with how it seems they want two guys completely opposite with Holtz and May, let's see if it's like a Kanell type who will nearly always take the opposite view point just for the fun of it.
