Now that Bammer had hired Johnson and we are coming to the end of the 4th hiring cycle since he "retired"- do you think he ever gets another big job again like Gottfried? Or will he have to go to the bus leagues like Brady?

Maybe yellow dog, I'm going on record and saying he will never coach college again.

I think he'll get one eventually. He may have to start back out at a crap school. But if he has any success some power five school will come calling.

No- I think Stansbury would have gotten one by now. He might end up at USM or somewhere like that.

Stansbury needs a new agent. He should of been hired by now. Maybe Mizzou will come sniffing? Kim Anderson struggling.

Usm would probably be a good spot for stansbury to try and resurrect his career. There or a school in a bordering state to miss

Pretty telling that not even Stands buddy Katz is lobbying for him to get a job.

With the price of poker going up in the SEC, he may not get a head gig in the SEC again. I don't see what is wrong with him being an assistant at a power 5 school. He is making good money there, has a great area and state to recruit, and he can still wear his maroon and white clothing. That may be more attractive than being the head basketball coach at Louisiana Monroe.

Well he either will or he won't, so why keep bringing him up?

It would take a school to miss on a couple before Stansbury gets the call. Remember NC State missed on a couple of guys and Gottfried was about their fifth option. I truly think if Pearl turned down Auburn Stansbury would have been the next guy up. Stansbury wouldn't go to a school like USM because that would mess up his state retirement for MS. He has done an outstanding job recruiting for A&M since he's been there. Maybe Kennedy's health condition deteriorates and he gets the A&M job?

Nope. He may get a La Tech or similar job. That's actually my prediction for him. When Mike White moves on LA Tech will go after him

Stands is working 24/7 to get a head gig. Buddy told me one of the things mentioned by the AD's at the SEC Tourney was that A&M didnt expect him back- he was working hard for a head gig.

Only jobs left worth a damn are ASU and VCU. Stansbury won't be getting those two. He'd be wise to assistant coach at aTm another year.

I haven't a clue if Stans will get another job HC'ing job at any level but I do wish and hope he does. Just because some like him some don't, I would love to see him get one to see what he can or can not do. Regardless, the drama will continue I long time on ED about Stans. Seems our "grave yard" for Coaches is alive and well thou.

Really haven't given it much thought. Since he is making a little over 500K a year from his retirement and asst coaches job, plus his investments, not too worried about him making it.

Buy in bulk. He will be the head coach at Texas A&M once Billy Kennedy steps down. Kennedy has Parkinson's Disease. It doesn't effect him much now, but I'm sure it will gradually start.

Who cares

I care, at least a little bit. If the Kang had wanted to get back into coaching, I would have wanted something to work out for him and I'd like for something to work out for Stansbury (to the extent getting paid 6 figures and collecting a hefty retirement check isn't working out for him).

kennedy just signed a contract extension and is expected to keep coaching another 4-5 years. Stands gonna wait that long?

From what I've been told Kennedy isn't expected to be in the role the entire time, but will continue to have a job with A&M. And if Stans wants a Power 5 gig then he better be willing to wait.

Richard Williams never got another big job after losing the MSU gig either. Who was the last men's BB coach that got a nice job after leaving MSU?

It's time to let it go dude. It's a new beginning for MSU basketball.

Maybe so, but you were also just stirring things up too. We have a new coach that I think everyone is pretty happy with. It's time to quit picking that scab and let the wound heal over and disappear.
