He's got a curve AND a screwball?

Really Clark?

That's his fastball or a cut fastball not a screw. Just has a lot of movement.

Really Clark?

Reminds me of Eckersley.

His pitches are ranging between 77 and 90 mph. That's some good variation.

I'm not seeing any video to view. Some special setting needed? Using IE10. Should be ok.

There's your problem. You should download chrome. Microsoft is about to discontinue Internet Explorer to work on another web browser.

It indeed might be a cut fastball, but in my day we called that a screwball, even though it had some heat...damn hard pitch to master.

I threw it sparingly. One time I hit the dugout :-)

Cut fastball and screwball are not the same.....

Screwball runs arm side and down...if a righty threw it it'd run down and away to a lefty. Cut runs glove side late. A cut is between a FB and slider while a screwball is basically a change with outstanding movement. Basically totally opposite pitches.

Maybe that's why I couldn't throw it worth a damn. I just used the laces on the left side of the ball to try to bring it inside on a RH hitter since I was right handed, and threw it with a curve's velocity trying to get more break. Te trick for me was the release. Never seemed to come naturally.

Probably should have thrown it more like a fastball, relying less on the laces with a slighted rotation. Might have worked for me.

Science says curveballs dont actually "curve". You going to believe me or your lying eyes?

I'm fairly familiar with Japanese baseball and I'm guessing that this guy is from Korea. Anyway- I hope the Cardinals have a scout going after that guy.

You throw a screwball by slightly turning your hand "in" (Thumb toward the ground). It makes the ball "cut" in on a righty from a righty. I only used it against lefties though. Harder to throw a cutter. You need to be a power pitcher in order to make it "cut" down and away against righties.

The ball moving arm side is called "run"...the ball moving glove side is called "cut".

In the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter but it is a pet peeve of mine when people refer to the ball "running" as "cutting"

That's right...My bad. Impossible to throw a cutter that runs..lol. If you could though gameover.....haha

his breaking pitch was a knuckle curve. It looked eerily similar to this guys and from the same arm slot.
