I have a slap crazy weekend ahead of me that has already started today. All I know for sure is we're cooking ribs sunday after church with the fam. I'm sure we'll have plenty of good food pics this weekend.

We are driving up to Pawleys Island, SC tonight for a long weekend with my sis - between my BIL and me, I am sure we will cook well (and yes, I live 9 miles from the beach, and I am driving 4 hours to go to a different beach). However, he is bringing Cubanos - real Cohibas. I stopped in at my local liquor store to get my bourbon for the weekend and the guy talked me into a regional small batch - 13th Colony Southern Bourbon (http://thirteenthcolony.com/products/southern-bourbon/). I'll let you know if it is any good tonight.

if you're going there you need to let someone else pay as well .... Mahoneys is the best on or around the coast no doubt ... everything is stuffed with lump crab meat ... be advised that no prices are shown on the menu

Very, very long story short, I had red-beans and rice. With Conecuh sasuage, of course.

My 13th Colony Bourbon was a let down. It is above mixing quality, but does not have the smoothness that something priced at the same level as Woodford Reserve and Knob Creek should have.

Thanks. I think we have enjoyed the leftovers most of all this week. Thin cut the lamb into strips, pan fry in skillet, and serve up with some tzatziki sauce on pita bread for homemade gyros.
