After work I'm heading down to the coast for my first taste of salt action in 2015! What else does everyone else have on tap? My buddy on the coast who is going to hop on with us saturday is a big craft beer guy so I'm sure he'll bring some good stuff to try.

got company coming down from Georgia so I'm sure it will end up being a casino buffet somewhere for us

I know this is waaay off the beaten trail for coast buffets but my wife and myself like the crab legs buffet at the Silver Slipper in Waveland. If you're not on the west side, its a long ride

I am just about to finish up the hotel for the Silver Slipper and yes you are correct ... great buffet and it is def off the beaten path. Very nice down that way ... always saw someone fishing from that sea wall just before you get there

You're in my neck of the woods then. Personally, the Hollywood in BSL is the better buffet to me. Friday night crab legs, royal reds, prime rib... it's our favorite buffet. The fishing pier at the bayou caddy launch by the slipper produces some good fish at night and I've waded around the rocks at the slipper with good success a few times. Where are you fishing and what are you using? Go to Claiborne Hill and get Vortex Shad in shrimp cocktail if you don't have any. If I don't go to new orleans tomorrow ill probably be wading somewhere in the area. As far as alcohol, I have a couple six packs of curious traveler grapefruit ale and a fifth of Blanton's to make some mint juleps to have while I'm grilling a couple swordfish steaks tonight during the game.

Well, I lived in D'head for a few years as a kid but I live in the metro area now. My fam has a weekend place in PC and we keep the boat at Bay Marina. Starting about now every year either me, my dad, or both are down fishing or hanging out on the coast. I think this weekend we're just going to hit up reefs in the bay trying to get a mixed box.

One thing I failed to mention on the Slipper buffer is we like to hit it up on mon-Wed b/c it's the same as the weekend but half the price. I think it's 12.99 mon-wed. I've never had the Hollywood buffet but I'll have to do that when we're eating out on the weekend. It's hard for us weekend guys to pick though. Between Half Shell, Capt Al's, Steve's, Trapani's, and Bachuss on the Beach we want to eat everywhere. I'm still a little sad over Cuevas Bistro.

We go to Da Kitchen a good bit, biggest po'boy I've ever had. Trapani's is great, Cuz's is pretty good, love half shell when we're over that way. Are you a member on the bull? I wouldn't know where and what to fish with if it wasn't for that forum.

Drove to Columbus yesterday. My W Girl is spending the weekend doing W girl stuff. Spent today touring campus with my daughter and hit Litttle Dooey for some crawfish. Tonight is Hucks in Columbus, and hitting the ballgame with Sheltonchoked's brother. Haven't figured out dinner tomorrow night. Anyone cooking at the game tomorrow want to adopt me and my daughter?

Went to Dempsey's for dinner last night. Pretty cool country coast restaurant. If you like traditional fried seafood, it's your place. My buddy got a catfish platter and there must have been 2 lbs of fish on his plate.

Fishing yesterday was brutal. I hit numerous reefs, grass shore lines, bridge pilings, etc... And came away with nothing. BSL was a blank today. I heard about some catching in Biloxi but on the west end I saw zero bait activity anywhere. The make things worse I had what I think was a monster trout break off at Gene Taylor and was the only hook up of the day. If I'm right, it would have been a trophy fish that would have saved the trip. Saw 5 other boats at Gene's and not 1 boat caught a fish I saw

My office is close to Dempsy's. It's pretty good and one of my few choices during work hours.

I've been wondering about GT reef...it should be on fire, very soon. I plan to do a little kayak fishing one of these next few afternoons in the bay. If the weather holds for Saturday, I'll probably launch the boat and start at GT and then start reef hopping. It's so tough to find and stay on the trout in March. I caught a handful last week in BSL on a topwater, but I didn't get there until ~45min before dark.

The fishing conditions were worse today but we did better. Changed strategy and worked 1 area in the bay we knew had to hold fish. Got some redfish and flounder. I woulda had a slam if I could have found a trout. Really my first time fishing said area and I'm really excited about fishing it again with more favorable conditions

there was a pretty cool air show at Keesler with the Thunderbirds ... if the fish weren't biting at least it would have been entertaining ... your right about the bait not there , a week ago birds were diving all over the area but none were seen while we were hanging on the beach watching the air show ... water was def more than just a light chop
