I would really love to land one or more of Simmons, Langford, and Blackwell.

It's insane to me, when you get down to it, how big a role shoes play in basketball beyond the high school level. I mean, I get it, but... shoes.

I'll be surprised if we don't land at least 1 of those guys. Very surprised.

I like it, Dan. Holy shit guys. If we land Malik this year, and 1 or more of those guys next year, we are no longer in rebuild mode, we are in competing for championships mode. That's how quick it can be when you've got an elite recruiter. I am beyond psyched for basketball again; it's a good feeling...

I agree, but these days people get killed over shoes. Riots in malls because of shoes.

It's not about the shoes. These companies funnel money through the AAU system in hopes they get a return on their investment when these guys go pro. Most of these elite level prospects parents travel for free, eat for free, and so on during the AAU summer circuit due to these shoe companies sponsoring the AAU teams

No. Haven't you heard? It takes at least 4-5 years to rebuild a BBall program!** Been one of the main defenses of someone on this board all year.
