Mississippi State[edit]
On March 23, 2015 it was reported that Howland had accepted the position of head coach at Mississippi State University. Almost instantaneously, the University of Ole Miss announced plans to add 2 additional feet on to their football jumbo-tron. [14]

That's hilarious and not far from the truth. Look for a "big splash" from them later this week.

They're hardly aware. Right now, they're crying in their Wheaties because they've lost political clout on the IHL board and just had their chancellor removed.

I thought they were happy that their chancellor got the axe?

I think the redneck wing of their base is happy. But the left-leaners (basically NAFOOM) are up in arms over it. Now Khayat, Archie Manning, and others of influence are speaking up in protest.

That could get interesting

I know we don't like giving them traffic, but that stuff is worth a read on NAFOOM. It just reads to me that they're unhappy that they don't run the state anymore. The IHL is pushing to unaffiliate UMMC from Ole Miss.

Never fear lurking Rebs. I'm sure Bucky is looking for that perfect spinner bait.

Believe me when I say that the BearSharks big money guys were the ones who got rid of Dan Jones, and it should be obvious why. They know change is coming, but the way it was forced on them didn't sit well. There's another big announcement in the works and I wouldn't be surprised if they move it up to counter our positive press from landing Howland.
