Stansbury isn't over charismatic and his style of play wasn't pretty either... but from 2001'ish to 2008'ish, he had a very supportive fan base and won a lot of games. Hopefully Howland has learned from his mistakes in the past and becomes what everyone wanted Stansbury to be. A guy who can recruit AND coach.

Being an Adidas school helped this deal out a lot & will also put us in the running for a lot of top kids who are tied in with Adidas AAU deals. I don't think we'll hear much bashing of Adidas around here.

That depends on what you want to see in basketball. Personally, I prefer Howland's style to the And 1 style that some other coaches try to run.

I do, too, especially for a program like State.

Just saying that some people seem to be expecting a guy who will bring in multiple 5-stars and play an exciting style, and that's not really him.

I would prefer he do what he did at Pitt and early at UCLA. Get quality players who will likely stick around a while, play stifling defense, and be extremely tough.
