I will say -- I'll do a lot less bitching about the sac bunting if we actually get the SAC flies, etc... and actually have decent situational hitting behind the bunt.

The biggest problem I've had with it is just how bad we've been situationally after it was laid down which highlights something that, all-encompassing statistically, isn't nearly as "bad" as we make it look with our RISP failures...

I agree with that. I was speaking more towards this year's team. The only real clutch hit I remember is Holland's extra inning walk off single. I'm sure there are a few I am missing, but the point remains, we need to nut up. Mindset is huge in baseball.

baseball is the very last sport we should be tolerating sucking like this. we have facility and recruiting advantages compared to the rest of nation in this sport. much more than in football and hoops. cohen has even busted his ass in recruiting and pulled in h.s. kids with great resumes. he's not getting it done and it's starting to become a pattern. it makes no sense whatsoever. he had that unexpected run to FL for that super and then finished # 2 in '13 but the suck is now back on.

Not just a head scratcher that shit downright annoyed me. Was nice to see the guys battle back at the end but overall just another frustrating day.

Everyone goes through ups and downs (see Frazier and Renfroe 2013). We're sitting here talking about a 7 game stretch... Minuscule in baseball. In these last 7 games he's gotten a hit in 5 and on base in 6.

He's 7-36 (.194) with a .275 OBP....

Is he unlucky? Just a .233 BABIP in this stretch. (He's a .340+ BABIP guy)

Again, he's fine. Good grief. He's the least of our offensive problems and could actually take the time to show everyone else what he knows that Mingione doesn't.
