Umpires have the roster. They should know who can play and who can't. (They probably really don't because they're lazy) The roster can change weekly too.

Truth is everyone on the team is going to be at the game anyway. And I don't know if college is like MLB- but if you're in the dugout, you're supposed to wear a uniform unless you are a trainer or a couple of other exceptions. I suspect we have a couple of pitchers in the stands charting pitches possibly as well.
