So aside from the few instagram/twitter clips I've seen from the MSU pro day, does anyone have any word on how it's going?

Bonner has posted numerous Vine videos to his live blog. I "timed" a couple of the 40's using my phone and the whistles in the videos. Here's what I got:

Wells 1st 40: 4.38
Wells 2nd 40: 4.35
Robinson 1st 40: 4.70
Robinson 2nd 40: 4.52

Obviously, these are not "official" times, but I ran each one about 3-4 times and each run came to within a few hundredths of what I posted.

He has Russel's 40 on there too, but I didn't time it. I was impressed with Wells' time; not to mention the difference between Robinson's 1st and 2nd run. What did JRob run at the Combine?

What did JRob run at the Combine?

Upwards of 4.7 on both runs. If the whistles you're going by are accurate, that 4.52 seems closer to me, though maybe a hair off on the positive side. J-Rob isn't a burner, but he definitely doesn't look like a 4.7+ guy in game. Maybe his 40 technique isn't good.

Good to know- I hadn't seen anything besides the official MSU FB clips. I'll have to spend some of my lunch time looking those up.

I could see Matt Wells doing the same things as Can Lawrence and Boobie! You can make a living from special teams

Wells was fast. Bonner reported that both of his 40's were sub 4.4, but I doubt that's official.

I'm surprised we don't have laser gates at Pro Day. They can't be that expensive (relatively speaking) and it sure would be better than relying on stopwatches - not to mention player's reaction time at the start.

scouts bring their own stop watches.

I built a set in cub scouts with my dad for those little cars they race. And that was late 80's, early 90's.

Would love to see Wells get in a good situation, has a lot of potential.

Don't be shocked if the Pats grab him up in the middle rounds.

One draft analyst has Preston Smith as the 12th best overall player. Same guy has Bmac at 56 overall. Don't like Bmac's rank, but that's the most love I've seen for Psmith by far.

That's definitely the highest I've seen, and it's higher than he'll go for sure. Still cool to see, though. It's amazing what he and McKinney have been able to turn themselves into.

I've seen about the same range on both with regard to the draft, though McKinney's average is higher. My guess is that McKinney goes at the end of the 1st and somebody gets Smith fairly early in the 2nd.

That guy has Cox 112th, too.

I think we'll have 4 players drafted.

BMac has tons of talent but disappears at times. Thats gonna cost him some. I actually think he'd be better with his hand on the ground being forced to battle play after play instead of playing LB in a passing league

The disappearing act can be said of Preston too. The last part of the season it seems he was MIA.

I wish both of them the best. Couldn't be happier for them

Preston actually averaged more tackles and tackle for losses per game in November than he did in any other month if the season. His sacks per game was less but that is even more difficult to guage strickly on that criteria. Although he actually averaged a higher sack total per game against ranked opponents than he did against unranked.

Shows what I know... Ha

I guess he was so dominant early that it just seemed that way to me

4.7 for Nick.

I know the position is not as common anymore, but does anyone think Nick could make a stout fullback for a team?
