Chip Kelly is pulling a Steve Spurrier traded McCoy for a Oregon linebacker. Probably gonna trade up for Mariota.

I tried to find ways this makes sense, but it's just doesn't to me. If he really is trying to build a team around the Ducks, his Demise will soon come. A track meet will not win a NATIONAL LEAGUE FB GAME!!! And that's all oregon has been and why they've yet to win that NC. Track meet

Chip Kelly's ego is showing. He has full control of the roster decisions now. This makes the 9th former Oregon player that now plays again for Kelly. He did save $12 mill by trading McCoy though.

Yep lots of cap space available now and can grab Mariota. And article on ESPN said it best...it's truly Kelly's team now.

This is far more about getting value for MCCoy before his contract is up and saving cap space than trying to put all Oregon players on the team.
They also released Cary Williams yesterday and are expected to release Trent Cole today. I'm not sure what all they have planned.

I think its probably something more related to McCoy being a cancer on the team or something like that- plus, they can roll with Sproles and draft a young RB in the 3rd round
