As MRA and Prep played. Noah Hughes pitched a complete game giving up like 2 hits in a 6-5 win. It was a great high school game. MRA didn't pitch there top 2 pitchers.

MRA should have won the game really......Hughes looked good and as good pitchers often do, was his best at the end, got stronger and stronger.

Did Hughes walk a ton or did they make a bunch of errors behind him... 5 runs on 2 hits.

Haha that's what I was thinking. I was like, oh wow, he shut them down....6-5....oh, wait.

I think the winner of Prep/Desoto Central should be the number one team in the state given that they both win the State titles in their respective leagues.

That might end up being the most talked about high school game in Mississippi this year.

Here is a link with a box score and play by play. Prep has a really good web site by high school baseball standards.

Yeah, it looks like all of those ER probably came in the 3rd inning. Probably gave up pretty much all the hits and walks in that inning.

Regardless, to go 7 IP and allow only 3 hits with 2 BB vs. 13 Ks should never end in 4 ER.
