I'd rather just swing away when there is a runner at 2nd with no outs. I get a coach not wanting to wipe away the runner with a DP. With the runner at 2nd, there's no worry of that.

Gridley has a far better chance of getting a hit or getting on base than the chances of a wild pitch or of all 3 guys going down without scoring the run there.

Also, our small ball might piss everyone off but when we get runners on base and mess around with it we score runs whether it be them botching plays in the field, wild pitches, etc.

Our bunting and speed on the base paths definitely put pressure on Samford in this game and played a big role in breaking this game open.

Usually when you get runners on and no outs you're going to score. It's not small ball it's baseball.
