Whats with the umpire behind second moving into the infield?

Interesting-I hadn't noticed that. He should have a better view on steals and bang bang plays, but I don't know if that is umpire's discretion or if that's the new position assignment. I'll have to watch for that.

It may have changed but I remember for the ooc games they used to only have a three man umpiring crew. Typical spots were home, first, and 3rd. When a guy got on base the 3rd base umpire rotated to the infield to call plays at 2nd and 3rd.

4 man rotation it seems like. How many umpires do they have out there? 4?

He was standing behind the pitcher's right shoulder and in front of second base. Could not see the ball cross the plate when watching online.
