This was a huge early season win for us. Especially with our early schedule being easy. That eighth inning where we had the bases loaded and got out of it with only one run scoring is the kind of thing that helps define a team as cheesy as that may sound now.

Great job by Fitts. My only concern with him closing is how prone he is to wild pitches and the fact that it seems to be taking him 2 or 3 batters to find the strike zone. He was lights out though to the last 2 batters in the eighth and the entire ninth inning.

At first I disagreed with Fitt's switch to closer but I really think it's gonna work out well for us.

Fitts obviously has "IT" for the closer role. Should do nothing but get better.

And just like holder he misses out on some calls because of the break of his curve. However, his curve has a tighter late break and not the big loopy break holder had. Both are great pitches of controlled, but they are different.
