Actually the pitcher should be in the windup there, not the stretch. He should have looked him back the guy had 10 step lead. Pitcher did everything correct except letting him get that big a lead. Was a pretty good throw too.

Yep. No reason to be in the stretch, but you have to look to 3rd to keep him honest.

It was definitely ballsy, but would have been more so if they had been down 1. Worst case scenario there, you're still playing in extras.
