Only 2 strikeouts

We sent 36 men to the plate, and only 2 struck out. It's extremely bad luck to only get 1 run that way.

I still like our chances, as long as today doesn't get in our heads.

Flab, when you hit fly balls in this park...they are Weak. Ass. Outs. It plays right into UCLA's hands. LSU hit balls hard against them too and look where it got them. A strikeout is as good as a hard hit fly ball against UCLA in this park. Not saying we didn't hit some balls hard, but they were just hard hit weak outs right at outfielders.

I would MUCH rather prefer to make contact than strike out. Sometimes contact leads to weak ass hits.

True, but if it's too high to get on top of...it's a ball, so we shouldn't be swinging anyway. Plate discipline is key.

Not all of those fastballs were too high. We missed some very hittable pitches. We should've punished those waist high at 89 mph

I'm not a baseball guy. But it looks to me like the pitcher gets the hitters thinking high high high so that the belt height pitch seems a lot harder to hit.
