Light accumulations of ice is forming on bridges and overpasses. Also cars are getting a light glaze of ice on them from the freezing rain. I've already seen one flipped pickup on the overpass with 12 by Frat/Sorority Row. No injuries from what I could tell, but still a good view of what can happen if you don't take this seriously.

Starkville has been placed under a Winter Weather Advisory by the National Weather Service until 6:00 PM CST. While most of the wintry precip should stay well North of us, I won't rule out some freezing rain/sleet this afternoon. I'm keeping an eye on it for sure.

MDoT had I-20 closed in both directions this morning for a few hours all the way down in Brandon as well.

Ref, you think it's safe to travel 82 today from Starkville toward Greenville?

Honestly? I'm not exactly sure, because of I'm not sure of the road conditions. I do know that the stretch between Winona and Kilmichael had 3 wrecks earlier today.

Thanks. I'm not leaving until after lunch so I'm hoping it thaws out some.
