Died today... Was there anyone who fit the identity of a school better? Tark was pefect for Las Vegas. Sad week for basketball fans.

A lot of people hated Tark, I was a fan. He took a chance on some kids that other schools wouldn't because he had trouble with grades in his past and I can respect that. He was going to do things his way. Hate to see him gone.

I've read two bios on Tark. The NCAA nailed Tark with a major violation because, after their upcoming opponent trashed them to a reporter, Tark bought a USA Today with the quotes and put one in each player's locker.

At the time, USA Today cost $0.50 a copy. The NCAA said it was an excessive benefit.

Rest In Peace Tark. The NCAA can't get you anymore.

Saw him coach one of his last Fresno teams in the NCAAT at the Pyramid in the early 2000s. That was a pretty special night for me, as I liked his UNLV teams growing up. RIP

I talked to Tark on the phone once when I was in high school. Was pretty cool. I remember being so star struck that I hardly remember what was said.
