Will there be a thread? Can this be it?

I'm going with Preston for pitcher. Really hoping he can be a true Friday night guy

I'll go with Luke Reynolds as position player. I've got a good feeling about him

I'm going with John Holland as a hitter and Vance Tatum as a pitcher.

I'm going with Reid Humphreys. I think he's a stud that is going to bust out this year. I know we want to platoon him some but I really hope we don't.

Pitcher I'm going with Tatum. We are going to rely on him a lot because I think he's got the stuff to be a dangerous shut down guy and I think he proves it this year.

I will give an honorable mention to Brent Rooker. He's got Dudy Noble power and there aren't many that have come through here during the Cohen era that have. He's got it and if he plays enough I think he provides some big pop in the lineup.

Cody Brown. He's got grit and reminds me of Will Clark in some ways.

Agree on Smith....great speed, some pop, runs down everything in the field

Trevor fitts. With a defined relief role I think he will be a solid shut down guy.

That's my Dawg-
Pitcher: Lucas Laster
Hitter: Cole Gordon (Michael Smith is a close second)

Cody Brown. That run from first to third in the tournament was my favorite play of the year.

Hitter: Wes "Big Baby" Rea figures it out & goes out with a bang this year

baseballs will help him. He really came on with his bat the latter half of last year. We all know he's great with the glove and has an absolute cannon from 3rd. I think Matthew takes it to the next level this year, at least that's my hope.

My Dawg (my personal favorite players):
Pitching- Preston Brown
Positional- Cody Brown

Most important player for our season:
Pitching- Hudson/Sexton/McCord (At least one of them needs to step up)
Positional- Humphreys, and it isn't even close since Collins went down.

Pitcher: Dakota Hudson
Position: Wes Rea/Reid Humphreys

Humphreys is going to light it up this year. Dakota can be filthy, hope he has the season he is capable of. Got a feeling Wes goes for 10+ HRs this year.

I'm going with Ross. We're both left handed, we both have relatives that played in pro baseball, both throw 80 mph, and Ole Miss fans hate him.

My sincere hope is that it's Lovelady. But I'll say Gentry.

Hitter: Holland. good power for a second baseman and incredible range in the field.
Pitcher: McCord. Need a Sunday guy to step up so Ross can move to the pen

Pitcher: Tatum
Position Player: Jacob Robson I can't give a reason for him, I just have a feeling he is going to have a great year.

Another poster said it and I agree. I think Humpreys is going to have a breakout year.

Position player- Britton....been my boy the last 3 years. Really came on the last half of last season and will be great on D

Pitcher- Laster...got some great experience last year and should be ready to hold his own during SEC weekends

Over-hyped??? Humphreys...If he hits .265 i'll be happy

My Dawg - Holland (I think he will remind us of a more powerful Adam Frazier at times)

Pitcher - Tatum

Hit fastball very much...curveball? Bats are afraid

Maybe he can't hit a curveball, maybe he can- we'll see. Personally, I'm going to hold off of judgement based on only 50 ABs as a freshman.

And for the record, if Humphreys hits .260 with 12+ home runs and a bunch of double and RBIs, that would be very successful. Batting average is down a couple of notches on the list of things Reid Humphreys should be concerned about, IMO.

He's not going to hit 12 HR's playing at DNF as a Soph

exactly. Double digit HR's would be awesome

Ralph
02-11-2015, 09:18 PM
double digits probably won't happen (hope so) but I am very excited about the new baseballs. If memory serves we can expect 15-20 more ft of flight. We had so many last year that only needed 10 more ft. I cannot wait.

Then I am fully expecting a good year. We'll just have to wait and see how it plays out. Losing Collins for an extended period makes me somewhat more hesitant about our team's power, but I'd be very surprised if we didn't hit around 20-25 home runs.

Gavin Collins - when he gets healthy he's gonna be hell this year
Ross Mitchell - he's one of the best in school history. Please Butch, use him out of the pen. Surely we can find three other guys start, I'd rather Fitts start and bring Ross in on Saturdays. Ross isn't comfortable starting and that's ok. Put our guys in position to succeed

Did well actually but I can remember him getting into trouble in the first innings of games.
Also by the end of the year, he was beat down and mostly ineffective. Remember how ULaLa rocked him in the tourney?

100% agree.

I hope the young man does well but I'm afraid some expectations are a little high, for various reasons. And I will gladly eat crow if he has a big year.
