Anyone cooking this weekend? I had a quick minute for lunch and had to grab some Popeyes. Shout out to their Mardi Gras mustard sauce. RIP Al Copeland

Nice plate of chicken wings for lunch. Purchased some good local beer - Straight to Ale Brother Joseph Belgian Dubbel. HSV area Dawgs, I highly suggest this.

Received a new meat slicer and dehydrator in the mail last week, so I think I am making jerky this weekend. Planning on this recipe:

Outside of that, it is supposed to be 62 in HSV Sunday, so I will hopefully be chasing a 3 y/o around the park in the afternoon.

My W Girl took me out to celebrate my first day of freedom from my job of the last 15 years. Sippin' a Bulleit Manhattan and eating Sapelo Island Clams and McIntosh County shrimp over pasta

This was my first attempt at lolipop chicken. I was in the K-roger this morning and saw where they had a pack of these legs pretty cheap. I figured, what the hell.

Baby red potatoes I boiled on the grill in a meatloaf pan alongside the chicken (salt, pepper, dash of crab-boil). Threw some roughage on the side. The chicken was rubbed with McCormick Tenneesee Smokehouse rub. I basted the chicken with Cattleman's Memphis Sweet, because I couldn't find my jar of honey. This was a last second panic. Nothing special. A homebrew Kolsch from a very good friend who is an excellent brewer. I ate it right there on the deck next to the grill. Can't beat that. What a day!!!

My first meal cooked on new grill. Nothing fancy, just marinated chicken breast.

Great work on that chicken JB. Looks outstanding

Thanks, Beast. Looks like you broke in the new grill well! That looks great!

Kind of a newbie over here, been reading some and will try to contribute some.

JB, are those legs or wing drumettes? Looks like legs and looks good. Never really heard of lollipops like this (had to google). Looks like something good for a party.

Nice deck view, pond or river?

Beast, saw your new grill in another thread, really badass. I did pretty well for years with cheap propane grills, but the last few years have switched back to charcoal grills, and using a chimney starter. Can't believe I used to buy that lighter fluid crap.

Look forward to joining the gang over here, but knowing when I post it will be more questions than tips. Love to cook - grill and kitchen - friends think I'm god and I love the compliments but know I'm sort of a hack. Amazing what knowing about brining, using foil, Tony's, Cavenders and Franks can do for you. Go Dawgs and bon appetit!

Thanks. They're regular legs. That method is also called "Frenching". Plenty of how-tos can be found online, as you could guess.

I call it a river, but it's technically a creek. It's a tributary to the TennTom. Absolute terrible fishing, by the way...no reason at all to even look it up or try. Rumor around these parts is if you even so much as touch the water, you'll get testicular cancer or something like that....
