Alabama's Bibb County wins game over Brookwood HS with a 2-0 score.

Yeah...they scored 2 points in the first 15 seconds of the game. Then they just held the ball and let the clock run out until they took the final shot with about 1 second left each quarter. I would've been so pissed if I paid to watch a high school game and the coach just said "I'm just gonna sit here and hold the ball...and there's nothing you can do about it."

Well if the other team would have scored when they had it they wouldnt have held it every quarter. They had to have it on alternating possession. With all that said, I agree it is boring as get out.

It happened to me in HS in a district championship game against Canton. Baby Shaq Sr year. We got the ball to start the 3rd qtr took a shot & they held the ball the entire 3rd qtr. Took a shot with 3sec left in the qtr. Started the 4th qtr the same way until we started trapping & we played the final 6min like we did the 1st half.

I bet a few hard fouls where the guy holding the ball ended up sprawled out on the floor might have caused a change in the game plan.

Why not just foul to begin with? But I agree its stupid.

If a man is guarding the ball they have to pass/shoot/dribble every 5 seconds right. Was the other team just standing back giving them a huge cushion?

Bob Boyd approves.

There are a number of ways to coach your way out of that, like play defense.

Yeah...they extended to Man coverage, but then they start just passing the ball to one another. Apparently Bibb County was taller and more physical than the other school. So they were literally just able to hold the ball over their heads and pass it before the 5 seconds closely guarded call was made. So the coach told his team to just back into their zone. So Bibb County just stood there with the ball...basically tried to see who would blink first.

I have seen it held like that, although not to the tune of 2-0. We had a team in high school that would occasionally hold the ball a few minutes. They were very good ball handlers, very conditioned, and operated the 4 corner stall like a thing of well oiled machine. After awhile you just get wore down chasing the ball, and then they would attack the basket.

I saw Bob Boyd coached MSU beat a highly ranked Kentucky basically doing that my freshman year. The score was in the 20s or low 30s I think. We held the ball pretty much the whole 2nd half. College basketball was a different game back then, no shot clock and no 3pt shot.

If I were a player, I would quit the team. This is horrible for the players.

Winning is never horrible. That UK win was a lot of fun.

Why not just start fouling?

No idea....easiest game to call for the officials though!

Apparently Brookwood didn't play defense well enough or score when they had the ball. That is why they lost.
