Don't recall seeing this posted but another former MSU player had a pretty big role in the Pats' win.

Early in his career at West Alabama, the Patriots showed interest in Butler. Joe Judge, the Patriots? special teams coordinator, noticed Butler?s ability to return and cover kicks. The Patriots value versatility, and Butler showed promise as a special teams contributor. Hall knew New England wanted him, and after Butler went undrafted, the Patriots signed him as a free agent.

Joe played for MSU from 2000-2004. It appears he's a big reason Malcolm Butler was on the team.

Was he a GA under Croom after he played?

I guess his one claim to fame as a player was getting thrown out of the UofA game for throwing the Alabama player over the gatorade table.

Bring this man back home. We need a ST coordinator. Also buck fama, so another plus.

Yes spent a few years as a GA. Looks like he went to USM after that.

Here's the article on him getting suspended.
