Re-watching "The U part 2" and made me think. Is the 2001 Miami Hurricanes the greatest team ever? I think so, what do some of you think.

Yeah, most of their starters made the NFL, and a lot if then were super stars in the NFL.

Not with Ken Dorsey as QB.

I'd say they are. That team had 17 first round draft picks.

I'll take the Reggie Bush/Matt Leinart USC team that won it all. 2004 I think. Won the title game 55-19.

It's either 01 Miami or 95 Nebraska.

I saw Miami play in person that year and they were extremely impressive.

87 Hurricanes under Johnson are right there. They had 12 guys drafted in the 88 draft- including one now HOF'er-The PlayMaker

The '09 team had 10 first round picks and 3 in the second round...........Physically they would beat you down like no team I've seen in recent history.......

If you're gonna mention a bama team, what about '92 and '11? Those were 2 of the best defensive teams I've ever seen

1971 Nebraska...13-0, repeat National Champions, won 12 of their 13 games by at least 24 points, beat the numbers 2, 3, and 4 teams in the final polls and blew out undefeated Alabama in the Orange Bowl 38-6. Their only close game was a doozy, the 35-31 win over Oklahoma in the "game of the century". They had 22 players off that roster play in the NFL....Jerry Tagge, Johnny Rodgers, Rich Glover, etc.....Also had the Heisman and Outland Trophy winners on that team...As a kid I remember watching them hammer Bama in that Orange Bowl....dominating performance.

I second 71 Nebraska. There was a Mississippi guy on that team (or possibly the 70 team). A Saftey from Amory, Jimmy Burrough

Now if you take them in the context of thier time, 1945 Army has to be right at the top of the list. Army had a heck of a recuiting advantage back then: come play football at Army or go fight.

This is the only correct answer

Yalls answers have me baffled and confused. I have read the entire list and have yet to see any mentions of Ole Miss. Surely Yall are mistaken...

Undefeated Penn State team that had Kerry Collins, Ki Jana Carter, Kyle Brady, Curtis Enis was pretty damn good. Didn't even win the title that year too but went undefeated.

Reggie Bush, Leinart, Lendalle White team was awesome.

The 01' team might end up having 5 or 6 HOF's come from it. Ed Reed, Andre Johnson, Vince Wilfork, Jonathan Vilma, Reggie Wayne, Frank Gore (possibly)

Others:

Jeremy Shockey
Clinton Portis
Willis Mcgahee
Byant McKinney
Kelvin Winslow
Sean Taylor

It's hard to beat that roster when it comes to talent.

The 2001 Miami had 38 players that were drafted to the NFL. I got to watch the 2002 team in the Fiesta Bowl
