That is GREAT news in my opinion. I don't know why, but I think this guy may end up being a stud, and I was starting to get worried about these other visits. I really want this guy at MSU.

He's smaller than Golson. I see him being used as a nickel corner. He's sort of a Cory Broomfield type.

As long as Townsend is on our staff we will get Smitherman.

Broomfield was a very good corner. I would take that in a heartbeat.

Yeah, I would too. Especially as a nickle corner where he matches up against slot receviers instead of Flankers. Smitherman is more highly touted than Broomfield coming out of high school, but that's the type of player I see him being. If Smitherman was 6'0, 170, he would have offers from Bama and AU.

South Carolina is going to have an in home visit with this weekend - they are the real threat.

As long as Deshea is coaching at MSU then Smitherman will be at MSU. He scheduled these visits when the coaching change talk started & there was talk of Deshea leaving.
