Clem Cladiddlehopper, assistant Sports Information Director at the University of Alabama(Roll Tide!) announced the 16th National Championship for the Alabama Football squad.
"In the grand tradition of Alabama football, we are the true NCAA national champs."
Cladiddlehopper explained:
"Alabama's only losses were road losses to 14-1 Ohio State and 9-3 Ole Miss while Ohio State lost to a 7-6 Virginia Tech team in Columbus."
"Just as in '41 when the Tide would've have beaten Vandy if it hadn't been raining and the State game really didn't count, if the semifinal game had been somewhere interesting the boys would've been more enthused and had no trouble dispatching the Buckeyes. They just couldn't get up for another Sugar Bowl."
"Given these facts, it's obvious to discerning football fans everywhere who the best team in the country is."
When asked for comments, Coach Nick Saban would only respond with, "We're on to Wisconsin.".
However, he was overheard asking his assistant "When do they carve the 4th ring on to my statue?".
