One thing I've noticed this year, especially tonight is that I really miss the 2009 offense when we had 2 backs in the shotgun. We don't help Dak out very much with motion and when we do hand it off we don't have a lead blocker. Also, where the hell is the diamond formation and pistol sets?
We've got to get that toughness back in the running game.

We have simply neglected to recruit fullbacks since 2009.
I think with our new personnel next year- Gray, Shumpert, and Aeries- we will see a little bit more variety hopefully.

Name me a "spread" team that is successful in the running game with a one-back shotgun offense? I can't think of one. Oregon, Ohio State, TCU - they all use more than 1 RB or a TE in the backfield for the majority of snaps.
