"Unsold tickets will be distributed by the Orange Bowl to first responders and youth organizations in the area"

"Mississippi State, playing in its first major bowl since 1999 and its first Orange Bowl since 1941, has sold 11,000 tickets out of its allotment. The purchases for both schools represent just under a quarter of their season ticket bases. Of fans purchasing on Stubhub, 21 percent are from Mississippi, 20 percent from Florida and 19 percent from Georgia"

This is why I was upset with the Orange and would've rather had the Peach.

Article is outdated on MSU ticket sales, which makes sense because it's spinning. We'd sold 12,000 to Bulldog Club members 3.5 weeks ago

There's going to be 30k MSU fans there... If not more...

Ah, that makes since. It is impressive to me that 21% of sales off StubHub are from MS. It's a long drive.. Should be a good showing of maroon, but upper levels will look weak. Still over 8,000 tickets on StubHub.

It's an 80k seat stadium and I bet Tech doesn't bring 10k....

The reason the prices are so low is because people that bought them thru the Orange Bowl itself get priority for playoff tickets there next year. So, a bunch of people were willing to throw away the $$ for tickets to a game they aren't planning to attend this year to get them next year. A bunch of this, with all tickets hitting stubhub together = the situation we find ourselves in...

I understand what you are saying, but it's more about the players than me or you.

These players play in front of 60,000 - 100,000 people frequently, but rarely have ever of them got to visit a place like Miami.

The players have had blast in Miami and been rewarded for their great season. Honestly, that's more important than how many fans MSU brings to the bowl game.

I'm glad we got the Orange Bowl, because the players were rewarded with an unbelievable trip. Atlanta or Dallas wouldn't have been quite the same.

30k will shock me. Hope you're right. Will believe it if I see it. I'd think about half of that. As I said in another thread, I hope the half-empty stadium does not bother our team. I imagine that the big city team we're playing is more used to that.

Put a pencil to it... We have data showing we sold at least 12,000 tickets @ full price of $100+ for the worst seats in the stadium through the Bulldog Club(as of a month ago). You think our fans only bought a quarter that(3000) at pennies on the dollar on stubhub?

It's an 80k seat stadium. We'll bring 30k easily IMO...

Exactly.
