Watching this nc state-ucf game I noticed no one rushing the punter, yet the punter kicked it like normal. If no one is rushing punter, wouldn't it benefit the punting team if the punter just held the ball a split second later before punting?

(Yeah, I'm bored tonight)

ineligible receiver down field if they hold it too long.

Knew it had to be something. Thanks for clearing it up

If that is the case, what is the benefit of the Rugby kick? To me the punter running to the side and rugby kicking allows the defense to get further down the field, than a normal punt.

they're harder to field and introduce the threat of the punter keeping it on a sweep. it does let the gunners down the field more quickly but the OL has to hold up and not be 5 yards downfield until the ball is booted.
