Agreed. As someone with no inside info on recruiting, my first thought is that it means we think we may lose someone.

I was told sign and place from people I know from Brandon. They said the coaches see potential.

I can't say anything other than that cause that's all I know.

It sounds to me like we are thinking about taking an extra WR. I think Storey will ultimately replace Derouen.

If we are being technical, we have spots from Myers, Champion, Derouen, and Kentavious Thomas. Plus, we didn't sign a JUCO CB or DT. So, I imagine that there is some fluidity at this point. I think we end up with 30-32 guys signed.

We're only taking 4, 5 max more players. Ivory won't be 1 of those. Ivory may be a guy we place but not sign but I don't see him being a signed member of this class unless something drastic happens.

Well, the reporter was the one that tweeted out that he was offered. He should have done his research before putting it out there.

If we didn't offer, making this up might have been a good idea by this kid. Gets his name out there. May get some attention from smaller schools like ull, usm, etc

It happens all the time, there are plent of kids that will mention offers from other schools that are just made up to make his recruitment look better.

Hell, there was a kid a few years ago who had a signing day party to announce between several schools, none of the schools had heard of him .

Personally, I don't care, the kid wants to get his name out there, big deal.

My point is, if you are an actual journalist- and he is- he needs to confirm that since the Clarion-Ledger is not scout.com or 247. It's unprofessional for them to not report facts.
