I'm at the game. I had to laugh coming in, they had poor schmucks out in the rain checking for parking passes in empty lots. We have Starkville high cheerleaders and the Starkville high band. I would guess there are about 30 or so people here so far not counting the band an workers. There might be 100 if you count them. It's still early though, surely it will fill up.****

At some point we just gotta do two line lay ups and walk thru them and let that be practice. Maybe then we could atleast stay healthy, cause the practices we have been doing ain't been worth a damn anyway.

Very sloppy with the ball tonight. We are up because Jacksonville is bad and we are hitting some 3's. We are on pace for 20 turnovers or so.

There were twice as many ppl here when the girls' team played WVU. I saw Butler in the Sanderson alot last year. I appreciate the time & effort from any walk-on but it says alot about the team that these guys are getting significant non-garbage minutes in year three. If he's still getting minutes at the 4 when conference play starts we have thrown in the towel.

Honestly with the teams we have lost to and with the way that we have lost to them, Im perfectly fine with somebody getting minutes that may not be as talented, but has worked their ass off to get here get some meaningful playing time.

I agree w/ that & do not mean to discount anyone's hard work. It just speaks to the state of the program when were still relying on walk-ons in "meaningful" situations in year 3. Tyson Cunningham was huge for us in years 1 & 2, even won us last year's auburn game. I was hoping by now the gym rat guys would be getting rewarded when were up 30 on Jacksonville, not up 7 in the 1st half.

I've been really disappointed with ware lately. I commend the work he put in to get that midrange jumper, but it seems he didn't practice a low post move the entire offseason. We need him to be a post threat and to play better post defense

What's really sad to me is we have a TON of experience on this roster and not a single one of them stepped up and basically said we are not losing to ****ing upstate and arkansas ****ing state.

Whole team played with better confidence. You could see it in the decisiveness of shot selections, crispness of passes, etc...
It was good to see when it was widely thought that we were close to just hanging it up and mailing it in. I'm not saying we can read too much into it -- but it's certainly better than the alternative...

I wouldn't read much into that win. That was a REALLY bad team we were playing. We made a ton of mistakes on both ends of the court and they weren't good enough to capitalize on them for the most part. It stopped the bleeding though, for now.

It's better than losing at home by 14 to a REALLY, REALLY bad team. But you are right, really nothing is learned from this game.
