He's not going to be in Oxford next fall if there are felony charges pending. It would be good theater if he does get there after misdemeanor convictions or nolo or whatever, but I doubt Ole Miss folks are stupid enough to put all their eggs in this particular basket case.

Not only is he going to be in Oxford it will be settled well before signing day that he will be in Oxford. All these 4/5* croots ain't coming to Oxford to have Switchblade or RB throw the ball to them.

If OM keeps him on, they will regret it further down the line when losing a qb will hurt them the most. I know how they are, but don't think they're this stupid.

They are ****ed either way.

They take him? All this faith-based recruiting and stuff shows how hypocritical it is. They are essentially Fla State- "whatever it takes"

They kick him to the curb? They have Blade and Buchanan and will be hard pressed to win 6-7 games

Based on my amateur legal knowledge, I think the biggest thing he has to worry about is the assaulting the police officer. That may/may not be a misdemeanor in Mississippi, but in New York if he is found guilty of that, it's a felony.

The other thing is his criminal history. I don't how much of it he has, but I do know the police had to escort him out of Clemson. I don't know if he was charged with anything though.

They don't know if Kelly will pan out at this point either- adding to the risk.

What a joke. The video published was just short segment of the entire event. There is no way for anyone to know what went on with that short clip. Lawyers just being lawyers.

Seems like Clemson wasn't the only problem

says Kelly won't be admitted to OM.

http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/ole-miss-football/freeze-looks-foolish-following-chad-kelly-arrest-2014/

Freeze released a statement Sunday night saying ?we are gathering facts on the matter,? regarding Kelly?s altercation, but it seems the nephew of NFL Hall of Famer Jim Kelly will never play a snap for Freeze. And that is probably for the best. Nevertheless, the head coach?s commitment to the troubled star within such an abbreviated timeline is unsettling. Freeze remains one of the best recruiters among the SEC?s head coaches, but he was burned this time around.

The sooner Ole Miss can move on from the Chad Kelly mess, the better. But Freeze ought to take the lesson he learned through all this to heart, or risk future mishaps down the line as the Rebels grow into a premier program in the SEC.

I love that "gathering fact" line he always uses. When translated from Buckyese to English that means "that our staff is furiously working to see if there is any way we can cover this up and make it all go away."

+1 I don't think Freeze and Company can make a wish and all this will disappear.

Bucky's biggest problem is Kelly did this in New York and not Mississippi. They probably can't just cover it up.

They can spin and they can lie though. Plenty of time to try to bury it and hope people forget. I hope they let his punk ass sink the whole program, would be so sweet to watch.

I'll believe that he doesn't play for Ole Miss when I see an actual quote from Freeze or someone associated with Ole Miss even if it's Yancy first. That quote that you bolded seems to be the writer's opinion rather than fact.

Now, he may know something I don't and may be proven correct in due time.

You forgot to add that they need it to go away because they need a quarterback next year.
