If cord struggles again this year, could it be his last one in the minors?

I think the Phillies are going to be patient with him. He's one of their top 10 prospects right now and he's still very young. He still hasn't really played a full season of minor league baseball, but I'm sure he will start out in low A ball. His numbers were "bad" because he is just really raw right now.

cord owes it to himself to give the minors at least 4 years.
In 2 years, he's hit 8 HRs in 480 at-bats.

Maybe if baseball doesn't work out for the guy, he can come back and play football for MSU, similar to what Brandon Weeden did.

That's his plan. He's got 4 years "at Mississippi State" written into his Phillies contract

If he does make it here, I know the Phillies pay for him to go to school. Would he still count against the 85?

Just like(maybe soon to be 2 Dixon brothers), he would not.
