Should we consider offering him the DC job?

Here's the list of college teams running 3-4...

Louisville Cardinals
Appalachian State Mountaineers
Alabama Crimson Tide
Charlotte 49ers
Oregon Ducks
Georgia Bulldogs
Naval Academy
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Stanford Cardinal
UCLA Bruins
Air Force Academy
Wisconsin Badgers
Brigham Young University Cougars
Washington State Cougars
Fresno State Bulldogs
West Virginia Mountaineers
Texas Tech Red Raiders
Oklahoma Sooners
University of Maryland
Vanderbilt Commodores
Southern Cal Trojans
South Florida Bulls
Florida State University

Todd grantham was at Louisville and helped them get to #6 in total defense. According to this site -- http://jeffschultz.blog.ajc.com/2014...ready-feuding/ -- Petrino and grantham aren't getting along. Maybe we should give him a call.

So if that list above is complete, 23 of 128 div 1 teams run a 3-4. 4 (Wisconsin, Louisville, Stanford, and bama) of the top 11 total defenses are 3-4 defenses.

Offensive football is changing, that's for sure. More pass-happy like the NFL. Even the dark lord saban acknowledges the need for more athletes on the field. I don't hate the 3-4. I think it has more options to be more multiple with pressures and such. The problem in the past was we didn't have the superstud DL to stand up to what would be asked of them, just my opinion. We may now.

He's making $1mil/yr at Louisville. We're not paying him more to come here.

Wow. I had no idea they paid so much. Louisville doesn't have sec tv money. We need to step it up with assistant pay

Collins was 1.2m right? Its possible, especially since we have the SEC network money. At this point there isn't a coach that I'm too excited about.

Edit:

Nevermind. Just read collins was about 600k +

Collins was maybe $1.2mil total for his new 2yr contract. Grantham is making $1mil/yr.

Yea, he made 575K this year and was scheduled to jump to 625K next year. I'm sure we would have even upped that a little but doubt we were willing to go to 1mil. Not really even sure what he got from FL.

This. If you can't take UGA talent and field a good D, you suck.
