If we were going to miss on one of them, we missed on the right one IMO

There is always one turd in the punchbowl for MSU when it comes to recruiting it seems. Just strange that everyone thought he was ours as of last night.

Knew it was a possibility- not a surprise. That's why I mentioned us maybe getting an unknown juco DT last week

Johnathan Taylor is still out there & he's not deciding today. Also me personally I'd be sending a LOI to Jason Carr as we speak.

We just haven't figured out the art of the late flip or the way to best defend the late flip. If Mullen thought we had Swain, he may be on the horn with Yaw Yaw Orgeron as we speak

I think the biggest question with Swain was if Auburn really if wanted him. The kid is from LaGrange GA, which is about 45 minutes from Auburn. This isn't a surprise. Rankin was the must have

Losing the JuiceMan at the last minute didn't help here

Gotta love Juco recruiting.

Id pass on both of those guys and hold the scholarship either for a can't miss hs kid , or a 2016 kid .

I don't like Taylor and don't think Carr can play on our level.

Yep, we can spin any way we want BUT if we want to be perceived as a big time football school it reflects really very, very poorly on us to recruits to lose a DC to the exact same position at a sister SEC school.

Yeah why in the hell did that have to happen a few days before Juco day? He couldn't wait 3 days?

I disagree on Carr. He's a former 4* who played some as a true freshman last year at TN. He just got upset bc they wanted to move him to OL bc they had no depth & watching them play this year they were right. I take Carr & don't think twice about it.

Rosebowl will still claim he batted 1000 come February, even after this wrong prediction. He was sure as of 8:00a.m. Things change in recruiting, but when it comes to him, they change a lot!

We just lose more 50/50 guys that we feel about the night before than we get it seems. Not that we don't win some and sign good players, but after every signing day juco or hs, we sit here with this same feeling after feeling good about a kid. However, we had to have Rankin and we got him, so a good day.

Seriously.....would you have wanted your son to sign with a program/coach then he leaves for UF the next day? It's about the kid and the kid only.

I don't put a lot of stock on stars, he will only two years of eligibility left, in 9 games he made 15 tackles and one sack in juco . I need to see more production than that.

Carr just doesn't look like a DL to me....

So looks like a good chance that we will go with what we've got next year at DT. Hope that's good enough.

Looks like Bama is going to offer Taylor.

How do you lose something you never had? I've never understood that part of recruiting jargon.

Yea I think the talent is there he just needs a coach to bring it out. I think he would be a player under Turner.

If a guy has two hats a table and he doesn't pick yours is what I would think. We "lost" that battle that I'm sure we put alot of time and energy into. I assuming your saying we didn't have him since he wasn't verbally committed, but if we are getting that technical, we never "have" anybody till they sign the line.

Oh well.

Guess some folks just like to accentuate the negative....never mind the fact we got some excellent talent signed today....

I seen it dawg

No it doesn't. It reflects on that coach that would take a "lateral" move. Got nothing to do with us.
