How fast should Mullen hire a new DC? Should he get it done before the bowl game and have the new DC observe and help out with the game plan like Auburn is doing with Muschamp. Also have to believe it will help with recruiting if we can get a new DC soon.

The sooner the better. We need this guy to pick up recruiting and to keep the recruits where they are, possibly picking up a few more.

Maybe I'm out of the loop, but has it even been officially announced that Geoff is gone?

All I'm seeing is the rumor/speculation article from Thayer.

It's not official, but Geoff is following a LOT of Florida people.

There's never a good time to lose a coach but this is prolly the best time in terms of recruiting. It's a dead period so it's not like we're missing a coach being out on the road visiting players. We should have a DC in place by the time the dead period ends & OV start back.

I think he needs to go ahead and publicly say who will be the DC on the team for the bowl game. My guess is Turner. Then in the next two weeks we need to be hearing about names. Would like someone by the 1st of the year but that may not be possible. Two weeks is a quick turnaround.

We can cross Bo Pelini off the list, he just got hired to coach Youngstown State.
