So, it appears that Ole Miss is going with he crappy design stadium expansion, with bleatcher seats in the south endzone, just to add 2,500 seats so they can claim they have more seats than us. They are also adding video boards to copy us. Wasn't it sold that Ole Miss was going to have 70,000 seats?

Looks like Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Tennessee, and LSU will have more seats in Vaught Hemingway. Thos JUCO QBs better work out or that place will be empty

That's the older rendering. Look at the one on the Clarion Ledger. You may note that the brick on the right side of the end is not showing. I was wondering how they were going to build so close to the Starnes Center!

Here is the one from the CL. Personally, I think the older one looks better. This looks like half ass crap

They said they are adding premium seating, but I can't figure out where it is.

Here is the excerpt from Jonah Hill's article

"It's expected to be completed in time for the 2016 season, and will push capacity to 64,038. Ole Miss will start construction on the north endzone in December 2015. It'll begin work on Jan. 7 on the south endzone project, which will add 30 luxury suites and 770 club level seats for 2015."

Where are the 30 luxury suites?

The new area is their North Endzone. The suites are going on the South Endzone, where they are doing that endzone club. Or were last time the CL did a story on it.

I remember a few months back reading something about them planning on copying our gridiron club

That's what I'm talking about.

They are also putting in an area like our Gridiron Club with a field-level standing area. The club that does with it will be an area under the endzone seating with no finished ceiling. It will be as glamorous as watching TV in your garage.

It may be a long time before they ever fill that shit up. OM with more seats that us, means OM with more empty seats than us.

Seems kinda half ass to me. Cramming into a spot that removes one of the best features going at Vaught Hemingway(open concourses above student section).

The endzone club is a pretty neat feature -- but those are still the worst seats in the stadium for 80% of the game. I think we had it right with the way we did the Gridiron and they have it wrong by making this people's permanent seats. The ability to view the walkout is pretty neat though.

Basically, they are cramming because they have alot of current demand for premium seating -- and view that opportunity as the cheapest possible method to finance the bowling of the stadium and eventual sideline renovations. The new endzone itself is a half-ass nut-cut of a promised project. Now, they are going to have skyboxes below a club below skyboxes. Seems pretty irregular in that regard to me.

I haven't seen anything that I was really convinced they got right. Bjork is spending smartly -- but he's not doing anything extravagant. Nice basketball arena -- but nothing special for what it is costing them. And connecting it to a parking garage infinitely cheapens it to me IMO. Then, that arena is built so close to the press box side that there is basically no chance of ever putting an upper deck over there in the Vaught. And that side sorely needs renovating, while they really need to rip out the press box and start over. That's going to be a tall order now. Nevermind that late under Boone, they spent millions renovating the Fed Ex and Starnes buildings knowing they were lying in the expansion footprint of the stadium.

They just have not shown much if any longterm vision there. It's all been reactionary it seems to me...

The students are moving to the north endzone. I wonder if the blazers and bowties will still be worn for a day game in August?

Execution is a bit better than I initially thought... Still not crazy about the prioritizing in the design, but it's not quite as bad as I thought....

So the North endzone expansion is a metal erector set of bleachers?

Wow, cheapos up there. Looks like the Independence Bowl stadium in Shreveport.
