I will go ahead and say this, if Ray doesn't sign Newman, this will be his last year in Starkville unless things improve drastically. There are still some fringe fans holding out hope that we can pull Malik because Horatio played here. If we don't sign him, their support and hope will be lost. It is what it is. With the SEC network money, games being televised, and Ole Miss having the better program currently in Mississippi, will force Scott's hand to make a move.

Yep, NOTHING coming up will mean anything until we play Florida State. And at least that one is at home to give us some chance. I've already gone through the schedule and conceded every road game to be a loss.

There is always the amusement of the soap opera that is football recruiting. You would still have a few weeks though between signing day and opening day for baseball.

The only conference road game I would give us a shot is at Vanderbilt and I think that is the last game of the year

We've got a few more in Daniels, Ready, and Dunlap(true freshman) but Fred seems to be the only one with any confidence or consistency right now. Daniels has a pretty shot and proved he can hit them against St. Louis, but he's been terrible outside that game. Ray has got to find some way to inspire some confidence in these guys if we're going to be any better this year, and I can't get too hopeful since it took him almost two years to do so with Fred.

Ray is butchering his roster management. He isn't signing players that can mask his lack of offensive coaching ability. He can't improve his team by coaching them up. He refuses to sign transfers so he's relying on his inability to develop players quick enough to have a chance. We suck guys. Own it and let's move on.
