Yes, the Orange Bowl payout is larger than the payouts for the teams playing in semifinal games, but it all goes to the conference.

I'll take that.

Yes and no. Each of the power 5 Conferences get $50,000,000 whether they are in the playoffs or not. So yes the actual payout of $6,000,000 to Alabama for making the playoff is less than the $27,500,000 to MSU for making the Orange Bowl, the conference is getting $50,000,000 because their is a playoff. Even more money will be made next year when the SEC gets $40,000,000 for sending a team to the Sugar Bowl. The total this year is $87,500,000 for the Sugar, Peach and Orange. The potential is there next year for $123,500,000

You can buy a lot of Little Caesar pizza at Davis Wade with kind of Jack but you could buy 10 time more out side the stadium.

Nice to pull our weight for a change... Does anyone know if the SEC still divides up the Bowl payout evenly among the schools, then gives the participant an extra share. For the Orange bowl that would be almost an extra $2 million for us...

Not sure why the pic is so small:

It says, peach pays $4mill for scum in the peach

$27.5 mill for us in the Orange.

Ole Miss is actually bringing in $10mil or so to the conference for the Peach -- all things considered.

Yeah from the $40 million the Peach is paying out, if 75% is split over the P5, that's $6 million each for the P5 conferences + $4 million for each team. So UM is bringing in $10 million. Not $25 million like Bama or $27.5 million like us, but still.
