They're both considered to be on equal ground I believe....but the Orange is a very prestigious bowl, so I feel good in saying the Orange is superior.

neither. Big 6 are now equal.

Orange is bigger. Peach isn't on the same par as orange sugar or rose. neither is the cotton. I know they are all equal in the committees eye's but in the public's.

Although they are considered equal, the fact of the matter is the 7pm game on New Year's Eve will be the most watched game of the day.

It's going to take some time to get used to the new bowl hierarchy so I'm glad we are getting the Orange this year. The truth is that the Orange, Fiesta, Cotton, and Peach are equal now. The Orange has the most history so there is an argument that it is more prestigious.
Also, this new order is good for Ole Miss fans because they were never informed that the Cotton had actually been knocked down in the pecking order.

Who gives a shit? Aren't we just giving TSUN fans ammunition to ridicule us for claiming an equal bowl is superior and being obsessed with them? I think we should delete this thread.

And yes, I'm being a smartass. ;

Same money, bigger name with Orange. It's clearly the top bowl of that tier.

Based on old data...

Orange still has a significantly higher payout in the new structure. So, we'll call it still superior in that way...

It's got all the current teams and dates listed. I haven't found anything showing equal payouts.

It's got all the current teams and dates listed. I haven't found anything showing equal payouts.

Someone, presumably on wikipedia, adding current teams to BCS-era payouts doesn't make the payouts even close to correct.

We will bring in $27.5 mil of the $55mil payout for the Orange Bowl. Bama will bring in $40mil for the $80mil payout in the Sugar Bowl. Etc...

We will bring in 1/5 of the ~ $400million for the New Years 6. Plus $4mil per appearance/$6mil per playoff appearance. Not counting the Orange/Sugar payouts. It's all very convoluted really.
