I just now realized how similar the new DNF will look to Nebraska's ballpark (Haymarket Park). The grandstand and infield grassy areas look VERY much alike. I know people have compared new DNF designs to Blue Bell Park, Autozone, etc.- but Haymarket Park is the one that looks the most similar to me, from an infield seating perspective.

It's definitely the same base design...

Only thing I'd like to see added to the design that Strick hasn't indicated thusfar is tiers in the berms on the alumni(right field) foul line and the student section in deep right be tiered as well. Just so much superior to have flat ground vs trying to sit/place a cooler/grill on the side of the hill...

Leave it as a hill in the "parent/kid" area in left in front of the playground because those people will be less likely to be trying to tote in big coolers and grills -- and more likely to be constantly having to move around...

I went there on an off day at CWS.

Good call on your part. It does resemble DNF in layout.

Minus the loge, minus the Stadium Club, minus the Home Plate club (think gridiron club behind home plate) minus the Luxury Seating area (whatever they will call it - Franklin Furniture Seating???} and minus the Lofts.

Ok I was being a smart ass. But your point is well taken and valid on general stadium layout.

However, it doesn't come across as even close to my expectation from a fit and finish standpoint. The guy I was with is an architect and used the phrase "sorta cheap feeling."

They are real proud of it and should be. I assume top 10 college stadium. The stadium manager gave us a tour. I recall he said it was 25mm to build.

Oh, there's no doubt new DNF will blow this out of the water when it gets done.

The "fit and finish" with the premium and outfield seating at DNF will be much nicer and more intricate- I just meant that if you stripped the renderings down to their core and leave off some of those other things, the grandstand/grassy layout would look a lot like what you see at Nebraska.
